Our job is to fight for children we’ll never get to meet. So that they’ll get to go home every night. So that there’s not an empty seat at the dinner table at their house. – Colleen Nick

On the evening of June 9, 1995, six-year-old Morgan Nick was kidnapped while playing with friends just yards away from her mother during a little league game in Alma, Arkansas. A massive investigation ensued, and continues, but Morgan Nick remains missing.676eb97cef0b7.png

After Morgan’s kidnapping it became apparent there was a need for an organization which could provide immediate assistance to the families of missing children.

Colleen Nick, Morgan’s mother, realized this need and determined to fight for Morgan and for the hundreds of children that go missing each year; and in 1996, The Morgan Nick Foundation was launched.

The Morgan Nick Foundation (MNF) provides a support network to Arkansas parents and families of missing children and adults. The focus of the MNF falls into three categories:

Intervention — provided for families of missing persons. MNF provides on-site support through trained search and rescue workers; prints and disseminates flyers of missing persons; creates social media campaigns; works as a liaison with law enforcement and media; coordinates local and national resources for the searching family; provides hope, guidance, resources, empowerment and on-going support to both the immediate and extended family members of a missing person. MNF hosts family gatherings for families and their law enforcement team to focus on issues surrounding the ongoing search.

Education — provides FREE safety skills and abduction prevention education to children, parents, teachers and communities. MNF utilizes a safety curriculum entitled NetSmartz provided by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, as well as Guardian created for the Arkansas Department of Education to be utilized in Arkansas classrooms or as long distance learning.

Legislation — advocating for legislation that protects the rights of children. MNF was instrumental in Federal Mandate signed by President Clinton for Missing Children, as well as the Megan’s Law legislation in Arkansas that requires sex offender registration and notification of said registered offender.

Mission Statement:

“Dedicated To Preventing Crimes Against Children and Adults Through Programs That Educate, Empower, and Unite Family and Communities.”
